The Location

Raja Ampat Doberai eco resort is located off the northwest tip of Bird’s Head Peninsula on the island of New Guinea, in Indonesia’s West Papua province. Raja Ampat archipelago comprises over 1,500 small islands, bays, and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo, and the smaller island of Kofiau. Raja Ampat contains the largest marine national park in Indonesia.

If the world's biodiversity was a dartboard, Raja Ampat would be Bull's Eye: the much sought after and hard-hit point in the center of the board. Researchers have found individual reefs here with greater species richness than the whole of the Mediterranean. Everything from blue whales to pygmy seahorses and pedestrian eagles are found in Raja Ampat - plus 76 percent of all known coral species. The area is as dramatic above the surface as below, and kayaking is an exciting way to enjoy the incredibly varied and rich marine environment.

Doberai Eco Resort is the one and only resort in Raja Ampat that occupies an exclusive island privately, named Urai, only 20 minutes from Waisai, the Capital City of Raja Ampat district. Exclusivity and privacy is guaranteed.

Inner Island Principles

1. We aim to leave the space and ourselves more beautiful than when we arrived.

2. The Camp celebrates co-existence of beliefs, curiosity for new practices and an interest in transformation, yoga and meditation.

3. You are in charge and you will get what you give. We believe that transformative change, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We will work individually, in peer groups and whole groups. How genuinely you engage and contribute will define the quality of the experience for yourself and others.

4. Everyone is invited to play, but respect and give space to those who would like to be with their own experience.

5. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened. Be prepared to be surprised!

Why Raja Ampat?
Amir, Iituli, and Henrik, the founders of the retreat asked themselves; what place on earth could provide the most stunning nature and secludedness that could support a  transformative process and attract adventurous people who have "seen it all"? After careful research and comparison of different options, Raja Ampat Doberia Private Islands stood out as the clear winner.
